As many of you will already know - the power of ordinary people working together to create a fairer society – trade unionism – is at the heart of my beliefs and those of the founders of the Labour Party more than a century ago.
Many union members have dedicated your careers to our beloved public services and then go above and beyond - getting involved in the union and in politics - to help create a better society.
I am really privileged to be seeking re-election as the MP for Tooting at what could not be a more challenging, or exciting time. Our friends and neighbours across Wandsworth are crying out for change and Labour is offering radical solutions, from making renting more affordable, to raising the minimum wage, ending the exploitation of zero-hours contracts and saving our NHS.
Six months today – I want to wake up knowing we’ve kept Tooting Labour.
Can you join us on Saturday 22nd November for a day of #TradeUnionsForTooting campaigning? From stuffing and delivering newsletters to speaking to friends and neighbours about why a Labour Tooting is a better Tooting, even if you can only spare an hour, we’d love you to join us. No experience of campaigning needed!
