Tooting Broadway to become an advice hotspot

On Thursday 17th July, Tooting MP Sadiq Khan will welcome the Financial Ombudsman to Tooting, to offer local residents advice on financial problems, such as disputes relating to insurance, pensions, mortgages and payday loans.

The Financial Ombudsman will be stationed outside Tooting Broadway tube station from 11am – 1pm on Thursday 17th July, to offer advice.

They will be joined by teams from the Citizens Advice Bureau and South West London Law Centre – who can offer advice on housing, benefits, employment and immigration, as well as Sadiq Khan MP.

Sadiq Khan MP said:

“I regularly see people at my weekly advice surgeries who are experiencing financial problems, or have employment or benefit concerns. As an MP, strict parliamentary protocol restricts me from getting involved with some of these matters, and since 2010 we have seen huge cuts to the number of local advice providers that I can refer constituents to. I’m looking forward to welcoming all of these different advice services to the high street, to provide much-needed advice to local residents.

“If you’re around Tooting Broadway on the 17th, please do come by and see if we can help”
