Sadiq secures extra Crossrail 2 meetings for local residents

TfL have agreed to organise additional consultation meetings for local residents after Tooting MP Sadiq Khan raised concerns with Crossrail 2 chiefs.

Residents were concerned by the lack of meetings being held in Tooting during the consultation period, especially in prominent locations – and the impact this would have on the overall consultation, which will determine whether the station is in Balham or Tooting Broadway.

Sadiq took the matter to TfL chiefs, who have agreed to organise additional meetings in the more prominent location of Tooting Broadway Market.

These will now take place in the market on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November, between 12noon and 5pm.

Commenting on the news, Sadiq Khan MP said:

“This consultation must be as open as inclusive as possible, to make sure local people get to have their say. That means giving residents ample opportunity to gain more information and have their questions answered.

“I welcome TfL’s announcement that more drop-in meetings are to be held – in Tooting Broadway Market – and would encourage my constituents to make sure to go along.”
