Sadiq raises concerns about violence in Iraq

Over the last few days Sadiq has been contacted by a number of his constituents regarding the reports of Yazidis, Christians and other religious minorities fleeing from persecution in northern Iraq.

This latest wave of violence is contributing to an already volatile situation in the Middle East with the ongoing situation in Gaza which has also seen vast numbers of innocent civilians killed and injured.

Sharing his constituents concerns with this, particularly the rate at which it is developing, Sadiq has now raised these concerns directly with the Foreign Secretary, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, and also to the Secretary of State for International Development, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP.
