New peforming arts block at Burntwood

Sadiq visited Burntwood School, to see their newly completed performing arts block, which includes a recording studio, drama and dance studios and a music teaching suite. This is one of the final stages in Burntwood’s ‘Building Schools for the Future’ (BSF) programme, which has seen the old school buildings replaced by new state of the art facilities.

Sadiq Khan MP said:

"It's great to see the new performing arts block at Burntwood open and being used by the students and staff with such enthusiasm.

"These wonderful facilities are the result of the Building Schools for the Future programme and I am so proud to see that our local school is benefitting from a state of the art building. With world class facilities like these I have no doubt the next Emeli Sande, Emma Watson or Darcey Bussell will be from Tooting!

"I look forward to visiting Burntwood again soon to see the first full performance in the new block."
